ˇBienvenidos a todos! My name is Evan and I am a self-employed Spanish tutor for English speakers based in Eastchester, New York. As of Fall 2008 I am a senior at SUNY Empire State College in Hartsdale majoring in Linguistics and planning on applying to graduate school.

I learned Spanish in school and can speak, read, and write proficiently in the language. Languages have long been a particular interest of mine; I have also studied Latin, Japanese, and Arabic to various extents. Bilingualism and second language acquisition are areas of linguistics that especially interest me, among several others.

I am experienced in providing individualized lessons for students and adults of all levels of proficiency in Spanish, middle school age and up. I have worked with people with various learning needs, whether they be academic, professional, or personal, or whether focused on grammar, exam preparation, or conversation. I have used a wide variety of learning materials in my own learning experiences and in helping other learners, and will give you practical advice on how to most efficiently achieve your own language learning goals.

I normally meet with clients at their home or at a convenient public place. My fee is $45 per session (up to 90 minutes) for locations in lower Westchester (i.e. White Plains and south.) I am willing to travel outside this area with reimbursement for additional travel costs. Please inquire about specifics of my availability.

References from past and current clients are available upon request. I have been recommended from the Eastchester High School Foreign Language Department and have worked with Elite Tutors, a tutoring agency based in New Rochelle.
